August Favorites + Gratitude

September 4, 2020

I am back to regularly scheduled programming and bringing back some of the most popular series. This year, I have dropped the ball in sharing my monthly wrap-ups with you. Before I share, I just wanted to jump into the why I share these products and things with you. To be honest, they are meals, places, and things that bring a little joy to my life, or make it easier. Each month, I enjoy sharing with you in hopes you may hear about something new that can bring joy to you too.

As always, I wrap it up with gratitude, because that has been the practice that has helped me through everything in the last few years and just elevate my overall mood.

In no particular order, here are my five favorite things from August.

Favorite sweet treat

I first tried Mallow Box marshmallows from a gift I received at Christmas. Now, they have their second location open at Legacy Hall and it’s unbelievable. The shakes are out of this world, and the S’mores make me wish I was wearing a sweater by a campfire.

Favorite spirit

At Blog and Brunch DFW last weekend, I learned about Equality Vodka. One of the things that make them incredibly unique is that they donate 20% of their gross profits to LGBT organizations. Yes, please! Also, they make adorable candles too (and this one is called the Influencer!).

Favorite running accessory

These new kicks from from Dallas Running Co. Not only does Dallas Running Co. sell a great variety of athletic shoes, they do a great job of matching you up with the perfect shoe for you. In store, you get a full analysis of your feet using a 3D scanner to find your perfect fit. They also offer virtual fittings if you aren’t comfortable going in to the store.

Favorite workout set

Fabletics has been killing it lately with their new items. Recently, I bought a few things including this great set. I have always wanted a workout set that makes me feel like a strong, powerful babe and this one is it.

Favorite dinner spot

J and I got to check out some amazing dinner items at Del Frisco’s Grille, and I cannot rave enough about this insane ribeye I had. My word. Not only was the food delicious, but they did a great job with safety precautions and social distancing. Oh, and don’t forget to order the cheesesteak egg rolls. They are one of the most popular and best things on the menu.

  1. Starting back at work and catching up with my friends I haven’t seen since March.
  2. Another wonderful month spending time with and getting to know J. Highlights include laughing at Popstar, eating a dozen donuts and binge watching Dexter, a ton of delicious meals, weekend workouts, and dinner with MeMe.
  3. Day trip to OKC with J specifically for waffles and a couple of other stops.
  4. Blog and Brunch DFW is back! I loved getting to catch up with everyone and enjoy a wonderful brunch.
  5. Watching Lucy play and get along with other pups in our life.
