Since summer is coming and a lot of you are planning beach trips, I thought I would share my beach trip essentials. I have taken several trips to the beach over the last few years and made a list of things I used to forget when packing. My last trip to Mexico was such a success because I felt more prepared.
Here a few of my beach trip essentials:
It makes sense for the pale redhead to list sunscreen first, but everyone needs to be wearing sunscreen on the beach. The sun is hotter closer to the equator, and it reflects off the sand and concrete. Currently, I am loving Australian Gold because it smells like coconut and goes on bronze so I can see where I am rubbing it in.
Tanning travel pack
Before I left for the beach, I got a spray tan from Perfect Tan. I have tried several different places for spray tans and have not been satisfied. My friend introduced me to Perfect Tan and I have been so happy ever since.
Not only do they give me the most even, realistic looking tan, but they sell their own product line in store. I got a travel pack to take with me and extend the life of my tan when I am on the beach. My kit contains tanning lotion (to touch up as needed), body wash, body lotion and body butter. They come in large sizes, or travel, that are perfect for bringing with me on my trip. Get 10% off all services and products with code: Jess10 or mentioning my name in store.
I forgot my razor the first time I went to the beach, and after a few days realized that was a mistake. Like sunscreen, this can be purchased in a resort gift shop, but it is typically more expensive. Also, the travel sized razors irritate my skin. My razor is smooth and dependable, so I bring that to touch up while on vacation.
If you are headed to the beach, you bring your swimsuit. However, you may not remember to pack more than one. Your swimsuit may not dry overnight, so it is great to have another one to wear the next day. If you tan while on the beach, switching up styles or cuts will help even out tan lines. Obviously, I am not tanning while on the beach, but a lot of people do.
Book or magazine
Reading material is a must while at the beach. I have tried reading books on my iPad or phone, but it just isn’t the same. The sun causes a glare and it’s too hard to read. There is also just something about having reading material in hand that makes me appreciate it more.
I love to throw a beach bag in my suitcase, so I have something to put everything in when I am walking to the beach. If you have even been to a resort and tried to carry everything with you, you know it can get awkward. Not only does the bag keep everything together, but it protects my phone and electronics from sand and water.
Here are a few other essentials I like to have for a beach or pool day.
