During the winter break, I got to experience life as a employed/work-from-home person. For me, that looked like going to the gym twice a day and brunching, a lot. One of the places I checked out was Ida Claire in Addison. Lucky for me, they serve breakfast Monday through Friday beginning at 7:00am.
About Ida Claire
Ida Claire is a southern-inspired restaurant with boho decor. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s the perfect place for a date night, dinner with friends, work lunch, or even breakfast before work.
What to drink
Although I wouldn’t recommend grabbing a cocktail before work at 7am, you do you. Since we didn’t have to go in to work, and it was 10am, we tried a couple of cocktails. The Ida’s Spicy Bloody Mary is perfect with bacon, Tito’s vodka, and their house bloody Mary mix.
The French Rosé has a variety of fruits and black pepper to give it a kick.
What to eat
Believe me when I say, you are going to want to start your meal off with the Ida’s Mini Biscuits. They serve them with gravy, butter, and jam.
For something lighter, grab the Avocado Toast. The pumpkin seeds give it a great texture and flavor, and who doesn’t love a fresh farm egg on top?
Another lighter option is the Acai Bowl. It’s fruity, sweet, but no too sweet, and has just the right amount of crunch.
If you enjoy savory Breakfast Tacos, Ida Claire knows how to make them. Maybe its the charred okra salsa or lemon herb potatoes that make these so good, but we ate both of them almost immediately.
My favorite thing on the menu, hands down, is the Pork Belly Biscuit. I don’t even like hollandaise typically, but I loved it on this.
