This summer has been flying by! My summer bucket list includes traveling, and this month there has been a lot of it. Colton and I got back from our anniversary trip in Greece last week. I spent this week in Mexico with one of my best friends. With all of this traveling back and forth, I have become an expert at packing. A carry on is important to keep all of your necessities with you in case your flight gets delayed, canceled, or redirected. I have had a few bad airport and airline experiences, so I make sure I have all of these things with me when I board. This is why everyone should have a list of carry on essentials.
First and foremost, it is important to find a bag that you love that will hol everything you need. I love this C12 bag from Bartaile. It can be worn as a backpack, messenger bag , or even carried as a tote. The C12 is cute, versatile and holds everything. There are sleeves and pockets to hold all of your valuables and favorite things (even a microsuede glasses sleeve).
I found the perfect makeup kit to take on vacation. Stowaway Cosmetics are the “right-sized” travel companions. The eye, lip, and cheek colors are stunning. Honestly, the muted plum lip color is the best color I have worn. They are not only adorably sized, but they are affordably priced. It’s everything I need without over-packing.
Flying is dehydrating. I try to drink a ton of water while in the air, but my skin still feels dry after a long flight. This juice beauty spray is a great refresher.
Portable phone charger
My iPhone battery doesn’t seem to last as long as it used to. This charger is a lifesaver for me. It can charge up to two devices at once or juice up your iPhone several on one charge.
Although there is space in my bag, I don’t carry my laptop with me when I travel. Usually Colton has his that I can borrow, or I choose to “unplug.” However, I do bring my iPad loaded up with a new book with me. If I do need to get work done, I can use it for that too.
One of my favorite things to do on vacation is run. Not only do I wear my earbuds when I run, but they are perfect for airplane movies or listening to music. The best part of earbuds are that don’t take up a bunch of space.
Change of clothes
If you have ever been stuck at an airport overnight, you know the importance of having an extra set of clothes. Yoga pants, tank top, sports bra, and underwear are my go to because they are easily packed, comfortable and take up little space. This has come in handy on more than one trip so far.
Pack your passport the night before and know where it is at all times. Speaking from experience, it is not fun getting to the airport to leave the country and realize you don’t have your passport with you. (That is a story for another day).
Toothbrush & toothpaste
As mentioned before, you never know when you will be stuck in an airport. Plus, on overnight flights I can’t go to sleep without brushing my teeth.
Perfect for long flights to grab a quick nap.
Clear quart-size bag
Don’t forget to put your liquids in a bag. My favorite travel bags are the ones with the strong seal that slides across. Just a tip: go ahead and separate it all out before you leave the house and put the bag at the top of my suitcase so it is easy to pull out for the security check.
