This weekend, I had an incredible time celebrating my birthday in Dallas and Plano.  There are so many ways to celebrate your birthday (or any event for that matter) in Dallas and Plano.  Here are just a few of the unique ways to spice up your next birthday in “The big D”.

Birthday in Dallas

Dinner and a show

Hit up Terilli’s off Greenville for some cocktails and fine dining Italian food.  Their “famous ice-cold martinis” list is drool-worthy.  Suggestion: pair the cucumber martini with the vegetable lasagna (and a side caesar salad).  There is plenty of food leftover for lunch the next day too and you don’t feel as guilty about all the you more too north dallas blogger plano lifestyle blogger husband blogger birthday in Dallas Wicked Fiar Park

Grab a ticket to Dallas Summer Musicals at Fair Park and enjoy the show.  Maybe you will be lucky like I was and your favorite show will be showing.  (You could also check out a concert at Granada or a movie at Alamo Drafthouse).

Late night donuts and drinks

Be daring and grab a donut from Glazed Donut Works in Deep Ellum.  They have vegan offerings too if that’s your style!  Grab your box and walk over to one of the many bars in Deep Ellum. Twilite Lounge is one with a cool back patio to enjoy the nice weather and a New-Orleans inspired cocktail.  (Just be sure to run inside before it starts to rain).

Birthday in Plano

Midday lunch tasting

Del Frisco’s Grille in Plano at the Shops at Legacy offers an affordable, delicious menu for every person.  Grab a friend (or a few friends) and order a variety of menu items to share and sample.  I suggest starting with their Sangria Pop, a White Sangria with peach Schnapps and fresh berries (and, yes, a sangria popsicle).  Mix up the food with several of the “food to fight over” menu items.  Don’t worry, they all pair together wonderfully, but don’t leave without ordering the cheesesteak eggrolls.

Save room for a birthday dessert or two! If you’re usually a “chocolate dessert” person like myself, go outside the box here.  The coconut cream pie is fantastic!

Dinner and Karaoke

Get a group of friends together and have a party at Mexican Sugar.  Come for the hibiscus margarita, but stay for the chocolate avocado cake.  You will not be disappointed with their dinner menu either.

After dinner, hit up one of the local Plano bars that offer karaoke.   Between End Zone and The Franchise, you will have the chance to belt out your favorite tune any night of the week.

Private party at The Barre Code

Did you know you could rent The Barre Code in Plano for a private barre and bubbles class?  Invite several of your friends to sweat with you in the class format of your choice and then celebrate with your favorite food and drinks afterwards.  Make it extra fun with coming up with a creative theme and ask your friends to dress up.  This is such a fun way to throw an adult birthday party.

As you can see, my birthday weekend was full of love from friends and family.  Whether you are a local or from out of town, I hope you read some fun ways to celebrate your birthday in Dallas and Plano.

Leave me a comment!  What is your favorite way to celebrate your birthday?

  • amy valle May 4, 2016 at 3:09 pm

so fun! thanks for the ideas. I love how glazed is open late but am always overwhelmed by the line!!!!!!! terrillis is delicious – i always end up w/red wine but an “ice cold” cucumber martini sounds like an excellent choice. and that coconut cream dessert looks something like PERFECTION.

    • Jessica May 4, 2016 at 9:02 pm

The line goes by pretty quickly, and most nights it is worth the wait.

The cucumber martini was so good.

I am still thinking about that coconut pie. 😉

  • Susannah May 4, 2016 at 11:55 pm
