December is my favorite month of the year.  It is finally getting to be sweater weather, Christmas lights sparkle at every corner, and there are several events in north Dallas that include hot cocoa.   Here are some of my favorite December north Dallas

The Barre Code brawl+brews


Join The Barre Code Dallas – Design District and The Barre Code Plano  on Saturday, December 3. Bring a toy donation (valued at $15 or more) for Toys for Tots to Texas Ale Project.  The brawl class kicks off at 12:00pm.  Afterwards, celebrate with $5 craft beer, Press Waffle Company & a free Brewery tour at 2pm.

December art+wine walk


The wine walk has been a hit the last several months, so Historic Downtown Plano and Plano Magazine have extended it through the end of the year.  Check out this fun event on Thursday, December 8, and plan to get some Christmas shopping done.  Grab your tickets today.

Santa run Texas 2016


On Saturday, December 10, dress in your Santa best (5 piece suit included with your registration) and run a 5K or 1 mile run/walk at the family festival to celebrate the holidays.  The Texas Santa Run takes place in Plano at the Dr. Pepper Snapple Headquarters.  Register and read more information here.

Frosty 5k


Grab your friends and head to the Frosty 5K and Merry Mile at the Frisco square on Saturday December 10 8:00am-12:00pm.  There are several team awards, so get a group together.  Register and read more here.

Holiday beer dinner


Each month, Urban Crust hosts a beer dinner.  This month, enjoy 5 chef prepared courses paired with seasonal holiday beers.  Dinner is Monday, December 12 at 6:30, so reserve your spot hereBe sure to check out their Wine dinner and feast of seven fishes too.

Holiday cocktail dinner


If cocktails are more your thing, check out Urbanrio‘s cocktail dinner on Tuesday, December 13 at 6:30.  You will experience 5 craft cocktails paired with a 5-course dinner.  Reservations may be made by contacting Kali at 972-543-8911 or

Holiday entertaining party


Learn how to host the perfect holiday party with delicious and festive treats on Tuesday December 13 at Cutco Kitchen in Plano.  Complimentary treats and wine will be served at this free event. Register here and save your spot!

Beauty at the Barre

Barre Code Plano clients and their friends are welcome to stop by and enjoy some pampering, a photobooth, and discounts on Saturday December 17th 10:00am-1:00pm.

Dogs DFW


On Sunday December 18 10:00am-12:00pm, bring your dogs along for a leisurely hike at Arbor Hills Nature preserve.  There will be cookies, hot cocoa and plenty of furbabies.  Read more details here.

    Being from Ada Oklahoma Dallas was only a 3 hour drive away and often made it there for fun weekends. I love the art walk its so amazing!

    I wish I stilled lived in Dallas (Farmers Branch)! I miss everything that happens around there. Granted maybe it’s because I am from there, lol. We live near Fort Hood now and even being this close to Austin there just isn’t as much to do!

    That santa run looks like such a fun event. 🙂 I miss living in Dallas! There’s always something fun happening there. That dessert at Cutco Kitchen is absolutely drool-worthy. (I’d HAVE to do a fun run after eating that. lol)
