Favorite Green Smoothies

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.  Although I am not Irish, I still like to enjoy the parade in Dallas and flaunt my natural red hair like I am. In honor of this green holiday, I am sharing a roundup of some of my favorite green smoothies.  Green smoothies are typically made with spinach, kale, cucumber, and green apple.  However, these green smoothies are different from what you are used to.  They have all natural ingredients that give it that green flavor and health benefits too.

Mint chocolate chip shake

Who doesn’t love healthy chocolate and mint?  I share a bit of history on mint chocolate and how I make this shake extra creamy. Peppermint oil, cacao, and homemade fudge are just a few ingredients that make up this healthy shake.  Get the recipe here.

Spirulina smoothie

This recipe requires several ingredients, but the star of the show is spirulina, a detoxifying algae.  Cacao, dates, and cinnamon sweeten it up. The Tone it Up girls know how to make superfood packed smoothies and this one doesn’t disappoint. Get the recipe here.

Green smoothie

One of my favorite local bloggers, Rebecca with Happily the Hicks, shares this delicious green smoothie recipe along with tips on what to eat while training for a half marathon.  Spinach gives this smoothie the green color, but it is full of fruit and yogurt. Get the recipe here.

Ginger banana smoothie

Alexa Peduzzi of Fooduzzi created the perfect green ginger smoothie.  Not only is it pretty, this baby is full of texture and warm flavors.  You will love it, so get the recipe here.

Pink grapefruit green smoothie

Kari put a unique spin on the tropical green smoothie by adding grapefruit.  Both the pineapple and the grapefruit even out the flavors from the greens, so you forget you are drinking spinach. This is a green smoothie even your kids will like. Get the recipe here.

    You know what’s SO weird? My workplace has filters and it has marked your blog as “pornography”. Isn’t that messed up?! Don’t worry, you’re not the first person I’ve seen my workplace mark this as such. This is also prime reason I don’t blog or read blogs much from work. Lol

    Yum, these look great! I’ve been making smoothies lately and they’ve all been purple because of the blueberries but I really should try some new varieties!

    Eek! I really need to start drinking green smoothies, but I’m terrified. I can’t stand the taste of any greens because of the bitterness (I’m a supertaster) so I need to find recipes for some fruity-tasting green smoothies. Might have to give these a try.

      Definitely try them. I am not a super taster, but I think spinach is the most mild. Try the ones with spinach and a ton of fruit and hopefully it balances out for you! 🙂 I can’t taste the spinach in the mint chip one either.

    There are two on here that I really REALLY want to try–the Ginger Banana and the Mint Chocolate Chip (because it is my favorite flavor of all time).     I make a green smoothie EVERY MORNING but it’s always the same thing – blueberries, a banana, some strawberries, and spinach. Add a little cinnamon or Lemongrass EO and top with water. Boring but it gets me through the morning. Happy weekend!

    Sounds good and very different! Anyone who knows me knows I loveee mint chocolate chip! I used to always buy a mint chocolate chip cone! I love green fruit smoothies but I’ll have to try one of these !
