Favorite Running Accessories

Whether you are an avid, every day runner or just once in a while for exercise, there are some running accessories that will make your run easier.  Each time I go for a run, I gear up with the same 5 things. Here are the five things I take on every run, long or short.

love you more too north dallas blogger plano lifestyle blogger foodie top five free running apps Fitbit Charity Miles Couch to 5K Map my fitness Pandora

There are an endless number of running apps.  From training to mile trackers and more.  Previously I shared my favorite free running apps, and I still use the same ones today. I like to track my miles, earn money for charity, and listen to music during my runs.

Speaking of music, I have new favorite headphones.  These ELUX from Specter Wireless are the best wireless headphones under $100. Specter Wireless, based out of Ft. Worth, Texas, created a line of wireless headphones for active people. They fit perfectly and don’t slide when I run.  I love that they are water resistant because I sweat quite a bit, and Texas weather is always so unpredictable. With the ELUX, I can control everything from the headset and don’t have to pull out my phone.  I can even talk on the phone through them!

Specter carries a variety of wireless earbuds as well, but I prefer the classic look.  I receive a lot of compliments on these every time I wear them.  They are great for flights and relaxing on the beach too.

Something that sets the ELUX apart from other wireless headphones is the 12-hour battery life.  They charge so quickly too.  Seriously y’all, check out their line of headphones and gab a pair.

Arm band

Since I can control everything from my headphones, I don’t have to worry about my phone, so I throw it on my arm with an armband. The screen is still a touch screen, so you don’t have to take it out of the band to use it.

Here are a few arm band picks for you.

Running belt

Last year, this running belt was on my fitness lovers gift guide and my sweet brother and sister-in-law got it for my birthday.  My shorts don’t have pockets, so this belt is the perfect place to keep my keys.  For longer runs, it stretches to fit snacks and more.  When the weather is nice, I run to the grocery store down the street, so I can store my cash and cards in my belt too.

Finding the right running shoe is important to protect your legs, feet, and knees and keep your run as comfortable as possible. Running shoes should be changed out every 300-500 miles.  Currently, I am wearing out my Mizuno Wave Riders with my weekly runs.

What are your favorite running accessories?

I was given a pair of Specter Wireless headphones in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions remain my own.

I use all these except I have a run belt that holds my phone so no need for armband. I need new headphones! My phone ones broke and I am literally using a pair I snagged off a delta flight

    • Reply Jessica April 10, 2017 at 7:55 am

My belt holds my phone too, but I don’t like to keep it in there with my keys. haha. I’m a weirdo.

  • Reply Emily April 7, 2017 at 6:38 am

Those mizunos are so cute! My pair are seriously in need of replacement, maybe I’ll have to check out the ones you have at the store.

    • Reply Jessica April 10, 2017 at 8:02 am

I love them! They are so comfortable!

  • Reply Giustina April 7, 2017 at 6:50 am

Your running accessories are so cute they make me want to start running! I’m literally sitting here thinking I might actually go change & attempt a run around our neighborhood. 🙂

    • Reply Jessica April 10, 2017 at 8:42 am

Thank you! I love when I get a chance to run the neighborhood.

  • Reply Emily April 7, 2017 at 7:14 am

I definitely need to get a running belt. My workout clothes does not have any pockets so a running belt would be very useful. I really like the wireless headphones.

    • Reply Jessica April 10, 2017 at 8:45 am

Yes! It’s so helpful to keep all the little things in! These headphones are so comfortable.

  • Reply Krysten April 7, 2017 at 8:02 am

I wish I liked to run. Every year I say I might try but then I don’t. Maybe this year?

    • Reply Jessica April 10, 2017 at 8:45 am

It’s the easiest form of cardio for me. You can do it almost anywhere!

  • Reply Janet Earling-Bencivenni April 7, 2017 at 8:09 am

My must haves are pants/shorts with pockets for my phone and/or fuel (once I get to a certain milage in race training); lululemon are the best overall fit for me. I use Bose wireless headphones (they fit my ears better than any other) I only run with one in so I can hear what’s going on around me. Water if I’m going more than four miles, and my Road ID.

    • Reply Jessica April 10, 2017 at 8:48 am

I do love Lulu. Those are some great must haves. I usually run with one in and out too.

  • Reply Susie Liberatore April 7, 2017 at 8:41 am

I love all of your accessories! They actually make me want to go running! I love your headphones… and the belt–I never know where to store my keys when I hit up the gym for a quick cardio session and something like that is great. What’s the squeezy thing you have in it? Looks like some kind of protein drink but I can’t tell.

Thanks for sharing 🙂 PS: i love that you can run AND make money for charity <3 That's wonderful! XOXO

    • Reply Jessica April 10, 2017 at 8:52 am

Thank you, girl! The headphones are seriously so comfortable and sound amazing! My husband thinks the belt is kind of dorky, but I love it! It’s so practical and holds so much because it expands.
The squeezy thing is goo. It’s for long distance running to give you a quick boost of energy/calories/carbs,

I love the charity miles app! It makes running so fin.

cute headphones! how cool that theyre also water resistant! I always wondered if those big chunky headphones slide off. I hate my tiny earbuds because they dont fit inside my little ears. Might have to look into this

I love the little belt bag, that would be so handy! I took up running a while ago but then when I moved areas all the paths were uneven and I fell twice so it put me off as I was scared of falling over again. I need to get back into it as it was a great start to my day.

Thank you! It really does come in handy. Uneven paths are so dangerous. Try finding more solid ground and get back out there. 🙂

I’m having a hard time finding an arm band that doesn’t feel as big as my arm. I have smaller arms and I think that is part o my problem I still have the running belt on my list of things to purchase!!

    • Reply Jessica April 10, 2017 at 12:01 pm

Yeah, that’s hard. My arms are super tiny so I like the adjustable ones.

  • Reply Stacy April 10, 2017 at 4:39 am

Cute headphones, I like how you can control things from them. I also like to use a running belt, I have the flip belt. I use it for my phone and keys.

  • Reply Jamie @ The Skinny Soul April 10, 2017 at 5:04 am

I need to look into these headphones–I hate the little earbuds bc they always fall out of my ears, or kind of hurt after I’ve worn them a while. Great tips! And I love charity running miles. We should get a dfw team together 🙂

    • Reply Jessica April 10, 2017 at 12:02 pm

They are awesome!! That’s exactly why I don’t like the earbuds.

  • Reply Helene April 10, 2017 at 8:35 pm
