Although the chocolate peppermint almond milk is no longer on the shelves, there are still some delicious things you can pick up at Trader Joe’s.  I can’t wait to share my monthly Trader Joe’s favorites with you every month in 2017.  Here are my picks for January.

Southwest salad

Trader Joe’s has the best grab and go salads of any grocery store.  My current favorite salad right now is the southwest salad.  It has 200 calories, with dressing, and is packed full of delicious veggies. I love to add avocado to it for a bit more protein.

Chocolate chip waffles

I think every month will include a chocolate treat, because I love it so much.  The frozen chocolate chip waffles are no exception.  They taste like dessert for breakfast, but they can also be eaten as dessert. Honestly, these would make the perfect bottom to an ice cream sundae.  All you have to do is pop them in the toaster.  I topped mine with bananas and maple syrup.

Chocolate coconut milk ice cream

If you are a vegan, you will love this ice cream alternative.  Who am I kidding? I am not vegan and I love this stuff.  It’s the perfect pint to keep in your freezer and take a couple of bites when you need that chocolate fix after dinner.

Tarrazu coffee

Although I don’t drink coffee, Colton does.  Now that he works from home, we keep it stocked at our house to get him through the day.  Trader Joe’s is the perfect place to find coffee, since they have flavors from all across the globe.  You can even grind your beans right in the store, so it stays fresh.  The Tarrazu is a delicious Costa Rican medium-dark roast full of flavor and perfect for your morning coffee fix.

Lavender hand and body lotion

One of my parents gifted me the lavender hand and body lotion for Christmas and I have been obsessed with it ever since.  I put it on before bed because lavender is relaxing.  My skin feels incredibly soft when I wake up in the morning.

Those waffles look GOOD! And the salad I’ve heard is amazing too. Great picks! Have you tried their veggie chop salad. I love just putting some Italian dressing on it and eating the whole container!

    • Jessica January 15, 2017 at 11:00 pm

Yes! It’s so good. I haven’t had very many salads from there that I didn’t like. The waffles are wonderful. It’s all I can do to not eat them every day.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve been in a Trader Joe’s. But this post has me wanting to stop in soon. I didn’t know they had fresh salads. They look delicious. TJ has a great selection of trail mixes. And I love their cheese and cracker options. If I venture out in the subzero temps this weekend, I’ll definitely find my way to a Trader Joe’s.

    • Jessica January 16, 2017 at 1:15 pm

Yes! They have the best cheeses! I love doing cheese platters for my parties.

Ohh how I miss Trader Joe’s! All of this looks amazing. We used to live 5 minutes from one, but then we moved. Now the closest one is 45 minutes, but I may just have to take drive down there some time.

    • Jessica January 17, 2017 at 9:24 am

Oh no! I would be devastated if I lived that close and had to move. Ours is about 7 minutes from my house and I swear, I will not put more distance between me and TJ if I can help it.

  • candy January 13, 2017 at 7:02 am

      It’s awesome!

  • MK January 17, 2017 at 4:57 pm

How did Colton like this coffee compared to their other beans? You should have him do a comparison! The way TJ’s does their packaging, I’ve always had a hard time selecting a coffee there, unless I want to just do a random buy.

    • Jessica January 17, 2017 at 9:30 pm

Great idea! I am sure after he tries a few more to compare them too, he will have a great post I’ll get back with you. 😉
