This month, I am sharing all of my healthy swaps from Trader Joe’s. One of the things I am trying to be more mindful of this year is macro-counting, as well as being conscientious about reading labels. Luckily, I can get everything I need at Trader Joe’s.
Frozen organic riced cauliflower
Recently, cauliflower has made a huge comeback with all of it’s options to replace traditional carbs. The frozen riced cauliflower is a healthy swap to regular rice and makes a wonderful addition to any bowl. There are so many fun possibilities, and the frozen stuff makes it super easy. It also makes a great addition to any smoothie. Use it instead of frozen bananas to dramatically reduce your sugar but give i the same consistency.
Regular hummus isn’t unhealthy by any means, but Trader Joe’s eggplant hummus is a great addition to the hummus family. It’s low in sodium and calories and makes a great, easy snack option on the go.
If you weren’t aware, Trader Joe’s now carries Pasture-Raised eggs. It’s a giant step in the right direction and a great option!
Cutting back on certain carbohydrates can be difficult if you love pasta. Fortunately, zuchini noodles are a thing, and Trader Joe’s sells a frozen version to make it easy to have a healthy version of your favorite pasta! It takes a lot less time than traditional noodles too.
Frozen crushed garlic and ginger
An easy way to insure you have garlic and ginger at all times is to buy these frozen cubes. The garlic melts perfectly in the skillet and adds the right amount of flavor to any dish. Pop one or two of the frozen ginger into your smoothie to improve digestion and help with pain.
