One of my weird quirks is that I love organizing. In high school, my (now) sister-in-law would laugh at me, because I would alphabetize all their DVDs and books. My closet is organized by color, type and sleeve-length. When I have time off from work, I almost always end up reorganizing a closet, drawer or shelf. Since I was young, I have always made to do lists. I like pretty colors, so my way of doing lists came very natural to me.
If you don’t already have a system for organizing to do lists, try this out and see how it works for you!
What you’ll need:
- Spiral/journal
- Colored pens (I like Paper Mate flair felt tip pens)
I like to keep my to-do lists all together in a spiral, so they are in one place and I can look back on them if I need to. This spiral is from Paper Source (one of my favorite places on Earth).
The different color pens represent the days of the week.
Sunday– Red
Monday– Orange
Tuesday– Light green
Wednesday– Dark green
Thursday– Light blue
Friday– Dark blue
Saturday– Purple
Each day I use a different color so I know when I added it to my list and when I completed the item. At the end of the week, I copy over my incomplete items to the next page (which would be the next week).
Hopefully you can find a way to incorporate this system to work for you. What are your tips and tricks for organizing to do lists?
I love organizing, especially my to do lists and planner! Makes the things I have to do a little more fun 😉
There’s just something satisfying about crossing an item off my to do list. 🙂 I’m glad I’m not the only one.
