If you haven’t noticed, it is warming up in north Dallas and everything is moving outside.  There are plenty of fun things headed to the area.  As always, I have a great lineup of food and fitness events to satisfy everyone’s interests. Come back on Wednesday for a full list of Cinco de Mayo activities, too! As always, events are listed in calendar order and a few events at the bottom are ongoing for this month.

City of Plano Instagram takeover

Join me May 4-6 as I take over City of Plano’s Instagram to show you “The Great Outdoors” and all of the fun outdoor things to do in Plano.  I can’t wait to show you my city!

Instagram worthy smoothie bowl workshop

Join me at The Barre Code Plano on Saturday May 13 as I lead a smoothie bowl wellness workshop.  Learn how to make photo-worthy smoothie bowls, snag some recipes and enjoy your creation.  You know how much I love smoothie bowls, so now I can share that love with you.  Class is only $5, so sign up here!

Tequila dinner

Bugs and brews crawfish boil

Head over to the Granada Theater parking lot on May 6 for the 2nd Annual Bugs and Brew Crawfish Boil and Music Festival. It will be filled with great food and music, so don’t miss out. You even have the opportunity to check out some dogs that need a home. Get more info here.

Cycle Nation

CycleNation™ is a cycling movement to raise awareness and money for the American Heart Association.  Secure your seat for $250 at 9am at either the Plano location or the Preston Forest location (or 1:00pm at the Flower Mound location).  Sweat it out to a 50 minute ride and celebrate afterwards with food and refreshments. Paddle board yoga

On Saturday May 6, head over to the Farmer’s Branch Aquatic Center for a free paddle board yoga class with Just be Well Yoga from 9-10 am. Create an account and sign up here.

The Den grand opening

Cardio and cocktails

When your workout is a giant dance party, complete with champagne and a dj, you are doing something right. That is how it is for cardio and cocktails.  Join the party on Saturday May 6 beginning at 9:00. Pizza and pinot

Join Jasper’s and learn how to make flatbread pizzas and how to pair with the perfect Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio wines. Tickets are $25 and include wines, two different flatbreads, and a take-home gift. Spaces are limited, so sign up today.

Plano art and wine walk

One of my favorite events in Plano is the Downtown Plano Art and Wine Walk. Sip on a variety of wines as you walk and shop the streets of downtown Plano. This month, the art & wine walk will be held on Thursday May 11. Don’t miss out, be sure to grab your presale ticket here.

Yoga on the square

On the second Saturday of every month, bring your own mat for a free all levels yoga class in downtown Carrollton. This yoga on the square will be Saturday May 13 from 10-11am.

Tequila Dinner

This month, Urban Rio is hosting a tequila dinner on May 16.  Enjoy a five course meal paired with 5 craft margaritas made with Avión Tequila.  All of this is only $39.90, so reserve your ticket today. Here’s what you can expect from one of these dinners.

Mediterranean class

Learn to make a three-course menu at home to impress your friends and family on Friday May 19 at Salt and Pepper Catering in Richardson.  Tickets are $60 and can be bought here.

Taste Addison

Celebrate all of the best dishes in Dallas at Taste Addison May 19-21. This year, enjoy concerts from Gary Allen, Granger Smith, and Vanilla Ice. You can choose to come for the day or the whole weekend! Get more details including pricing information and hours here.

Free to breathe 5k/1 mile

Raise money for Free to Breath lung cancer research while walking or running your way to health on SundayMay 21. Join in on the fun at Oat Point Park Ampitheater and bring your whole family.  Online registration is only $25 for this 5k, so save your spot today.

Tex Mex class

On May 26, head over to Salt and Pepper Catering in Richardson for a hands on cooking class.  Learn how to make red chile chicken enchiladas with lime crema, cilantro lime rice and borracho beans.  Finish your delicious meal with cinnamon sugar churros with caramel dipping sauce- the ultimate Tex Mex menu items. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased here.

Rock the block

Kick off your Memorial Day weekend right on May 27 at the Rock the Block race in Plano. All fitness levels are welcome, so register for the 5k or 10k fun run here.

 

Summer cocktail class

On Saturday May 27, Tricky Fish at CityLine is hosting a summer cocktail class.  Spaces are limited, but class is $25 and includes 2 drinks, appetizers and a take home gift. Save your spot today.

Wine and cupcake pairing

Mad Batter Baker in Addison will be hosting a wine and cupcake pairing party on May 27.  Sample all of their cupcakes paired with a variety of wines.  Each ticket gets you as many cupcakes, hor d’oeuvres, and wine as you want.  Tickets are $40 here.

Every Saturday in May join CityLine in Richardson for FREE yoga from 9:00-10:00 am. Bring a water bottle and your own mat and enjoy.

Dinner and music at CityLine

Now through May 27th, enjoy live music while you grab dinner at your favorite CityLine restaurant patio (including Fernando’s Mexican Cuisine, Good Union Urban BBQ, and Tricky Fish) Thursdays-Saturdays 6-9pm. You can also grab dinner to go (from Coal Vines, Edoko Sushi & Robata, Tom+Chee, Jasper’s and Nestle Toll House Cafe) and eat on the lawn.

    You have so many great events happening in your town! Love the idea of paddle board yoga but am terrified of falling in the water whenever I see someone doing it (this fear stems from not being able to swim).

    That’s awesome you are doing an instagram takeover! Thanks for sharing and so wish I lived closer!!

      We really do! I am afraid of falling in on a paddleboard in normal clothes, but I would feel safe in this controlled environment (pool) with my suit on.
