May Trader Joe’s Favorites

May 22, 2018

We are on the home stretch to summer, and I could not be more excited for cookouts, swimming, time off of work, traveling, and more time to spend with my family and friends. This month, I am sharing five of my favorite things from Trader Joe’s to get you summer ready.

Carolina Gold BBQ Sauce

What’s summer without a cookout? If you are a fan of Carolina BBQ sauce, you will love Trader Joe’s version. Carolina Gold BBQ sauce is a sweet and smoky mustard-based sauce that perfectly compliments any dish or sandwich.

Green Jackfruit in Brine

Did you know that jackfruit can grow to be 100 lbs. and is the tallest tree fruit? Another fact is that it is a great substitute for meat similar to tofu, but tastes even better. Trader Joe’s now carries canned Green Jackfruit in Brine. My favorite way to serve it is cooked in bbq sauce, like the previously mentioned Carolina sauce. It creates a pulled pork type texture and goes great on a bun or with some slaw.

Dark Chocolate Covered Blueberries

One of my favorite treats are chocolate covered fruit. These dark chocolate covered blueberries are incredibly addicting. I eat a handful of them when I am craving something sweet. They also make a delicious travel snack (when it’s not 100 degrees outside). Keep them stored in the fridge for a cold treat on a hot day.

Spray Sunscreen

Now that it is 100 degrees, or pretty close to it, I don’t leave my house without sunscreen. One of my favorites is the spray sunscreen at Trader Joe’s. It’s 50 SPF and super easy to apply. I love using it when I run, since it’s water resistant for up to 80 minutes. No more rubbing it in, the spray makes it easy to apply.

Trader Joe’s now carries mouthwash that contains no artificial flavors or synthetic colors common in other mouthwashes. It’s minty without being harsh and contains no alcohol, just natural ingredients that freshen breath and brighten your teeth.
