August is here and school is about to start up. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job, but I really love Summer Jess too. Summer Jess is my summer altar ego and she stays up late and has a lot of fun. Fortunately, there are plenty of food and fitness events to keep me in the Summer Jess mood all month long. Here are a few of my favorites from August.

Barre Code Birthday Bash
If you haven’t been to The Barre Code Design District, you are missing out, because they can throw a party. This year’s birthday bash is going to be even better than before. On August 5 at 11am, take a 30 min barre class at The Stoneleigh Hotel, then jump in their beautiful pool to cool off. You will also receive a post class frose. Although not technically north Dallas, the Granada Theater is one of my favorite places in Dallas. Beats and Eats is in it’s second year, and you shouldn’t miss out.
