Original ChopShop

October 23, 2018

Back in April, I posted about Original ChopShop opening in Las Colinas. Since then, they opened a location in Plano at The Shops at Legacy and have another coming in Park Cities. There is a reason this place is blowing up and you should know about it.

About Original ChopShop

Original ChopShop opened in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2013 as a neighborhood restaurant that serves good food from whole ingredients. They are open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They specialize in protein bowls and juices, but they have a variety of healthy options on their menu. There are plans to open a few DFW locations now that the Las Colinas location is in full swing.

They offer a variety of gluten free, dairy free, lactose free, soy free, vegan and vegetarian options.

What to eat

This is not an all-inclusive list, since they have so many great items on their menu. These are just a few tried and true favorites from our group. Original ChopShop’s menu contains sandwiches served on ciabatta bread, although you have the option to substitute for a wrap.

Veggie and hummus

Who doesn’t love a good hummus? This one has the veggies inside and it’s creamy and delicious. Order it by itself or in between bread.

Salads

They offer a variety of salads, but our table’s favorite was the BBQ chicken salad. The BBQ ranch is the perfect dressing for these greens and veggies. You can add chicken, steak, shrimp, or tofu to any of the 8 salads, or you can turn the salad into a wrap.

Protein bowls

Spicy Korean Steak with forbidden rice

Teriyaki chicken with sweet potato hash

All of the bowls come with roasted broccoli, cauliflower, onion, carrot, and mushrooms. Then, you choose your protein and grain. Grain choices include brown rice, sweet potato hash, forbidden rice, and quinoa. For protein, you can choose between thai coconut chicken, teriyaki chicken, sweet soy sesame steak, spicy korean steak, red chili lime shrimp, and green curry tofu.
