I’ve partnered with Spavia Day Spa to bring you this post. All opinions remain my own.
Do you ever work out so frequently that you forget how sore you really are? That is exactly how I felt after completing the #Springiton2016 challenge. It was time for a massage (something I get only a few times a year)! Stephanie, the owner at Spavia, is an absolute joy and shares in my passion for helping women feel beautiful. Scheduling an appointment
Spavia makes it easy to schedule your appointment. You can call or schedule online (right now you can even get a free mini massage or facial). They can truly customize something to fit your needs. Stephanie suggested I try a sports massage (I usually get therapeutic massages for relaxation). This was new to me, but I figured it would be great to try.
I was greeted by two sweet and welcoming girls at the front desk. They gave me a warm neck pillow and my intake form. Spavia offers full customization of their massages. This was evidenced by the form which allows you to choose not only your pressure and area preferences, but the lotion scent, music, and whether or not you would like your therapist to talk to you.
Once my form was filled out, they walked me back to the women’s locker room. The second I walked in, I immediately felt relaxed. It smelt great and looked like a resort bathroom. I changed in to my robe and spa shoes, put away my things in my locker (they even have a little box to put your jewelry in), and stepped out into the retreat.
There were motivational quote books, mints, lotions, and adult coloring books. Spavia thought of every form of relaxation for all five senses(relaxing scents, sounds, dimmed lights, mints, to the comfortable couches and robes) to set the tone for your massage. I grabbed a mint, curled up with my water on the couch with my comfy robe, and colored for the first time in years. Be sure to get to your massage early enough to relax and enjoy the retreat. You will be happy you did.
My massage therapist, Virgil spoke with me to get a better understanding of my needs. She explained that she would do some stretches in order to ease tension. Between the massages and stretches, I continued to feel relaxed. Although I had a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders, I opted for a full body sports massage. I am so glad I did. The hour went by way too fast, but Virgil told me some stretches I could do at home to help with my neck tension.
Virgil took me back to the retreat with a decorated cup of water (seriously, all these personalized touches made it so much more special). I never felt rushed or that I was in anyone’s way at any point. Although there were other people in the retreat room, it seemed like I was the only one there.
I left feeling relaxed and much looser. This made such a big difference in my week. Massages are important for whole body and wellness. One of the best things about Spavia is that they make luxury massages affordable for everyone. Of all the massages I have had, the amenities that came along with this one far surpassed my expectations and stood out as one of the best.
Spavia’s fully customizable treatments, retreat room, and friendly staff are just a few of the many reasons you should check out this spa. As mentioned, the have affordable pricing and monthly memberships. You can tell it is their priority to make sure you feel comfortable and have an escape. I would highly recommend Spavia to anyone looking to relax, ease tired muscles, or in need of recovery. They also offer facials, wraps, peels and other services, so check them out and see for yourself what makes Spavia so fantastic.
