Snap Kitchens are popping up all over north Dallas.  Our house is in between the Richardson (Coit/Campbell) and Plano (Shops at Legacy) locations, so I decided to check out both.  If you have never been to Snap Kitchen, it is a fresh, healthy take-away restaurant.  They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, snacks, desserts and cold-pressed juices.

First Impressions

Both the Plano and Richardson stores are set up the same.  When I walked in, I was greeted by someone who works there who explained how it was set up.  All of their meals are perfectly portioned and even color coded to represent different sizes.  It was clean and easy to find my way around.

What I Ate/Drank

I have been a few times, because I wanted to try a variety of items before I wrote a review.

Naked chicken with garlic snap peas and roasted cauliflower– Super simply, simply delicious.  I wanted to start off with something basic and easy.  SO GOOD.

Chicken and green chile “enchiladas”–  Probably my favorite meal I’ve tried.  The pickled red onions on top really add to the flavor.  It was just the right amount of food.

Chicken and sesame chopped chicken salad- I look for salads with a lot of textures.  This salad definitely delivered.  The cabbage, kale, pickled carrots, toasted cashews…are you drooling yet?  Even the house made citrus sesame vinaigrette.

Jalapeno hummus– This is my favorite thing on the menu.  Hummus is delicious, but this one by far is the best I have had.  I paired mine with the carrot and celery sticks.

Easy Greens juice– A sweeter take on regular green juice.  This is a great beginner green juice for someone.

Carrot ginger elixir– I loved this one!  I am a big fan of ginger in drinks because it is soothing for the stomach.

Seed bar– This was a “free take me” snack and I am glad I picked it up.  It was protein packed and tasty!

Gluten free chocolate chip cookies– They are gluten free and vegan and taste like a “regular ole'” chocolate chip cookie.  You would have no idea they are healthy.

Raves

Snap Kitchen is quick and convenient.  You can heat up your food right there in the store, or take it with you home or to work.  Everything is prepacked, pre-portioned and ready to go.  I like how they offer breakfast foods all day too (who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner?).  Oh!  The boxes the food come in are reusable (microwave and dishwasher safe), so essentially you are paying for upgraded Tupperware.  haha.

Hesitations

It isn’t a “sit down” restaurant, more of a grab and go.  It wouldn’t be a good place to go grab lunch with friends (although they do offer limited seating outside).  But hey, you can always grab and go on a picnic somewhere!

Overall

Yes!  Snap Kitchen is worth checking out and lives up to all of the hype.  Seriously delicious food.  I am so glad the Richardson location is on my way home from work, because it is so convenient when I am not in the mood for cooking dinner.

Mmm looks tasty! If weather permitted I would totally “grab & go” to a nice outdoor park or something to enjoy fresh food on my lunch break!

I wish I had a lunch break where I could leave. The weather is gorgeous here today! 🙂

Snap is so easy and convenient when I need a quick lunch that’s healthy. Gotta check the sodium and fat content on some of the stuff though. It’s a healthier option, but not everything is healthy.

Yes. Great tip! I noticed some of it was high in sodium. 🙂

I love Snap Kitchen. When i first discovered it, I was literally there everyday for lunch!! lol It gets pricey, but their food is delicous and I prefer them over My fit foods or Simply fit meals.

It absolutely does. I am just glad I don’t work at a place where I can leave for lunch. I am way too busy, but that would get me into trouble.

Yes! I love Snap Kitchen! I work in Colleyville and there’s one right down the road between work and my house, so they get a lot of my money. Haha
