I have been dying to check out The Statler since it opened, so when Scout reached out to me to come in, I jumped on the opportunity. Scout is one of several restaurants at The Statler, and one you should check out soon.
Scout is located at The Statler in downtown Dallas. It is a 12,000-square-foot restaurant and bar filled with fun games for every adult. Whether you are an avid bowler, epic ping pong player, competitive pool player, or foosball champion, everyone will find something they enjoy. Entertainment and adventure are the names of the game at Scout.
Every day of the week is an adventure at Scout, but Wednesdays are Ping Me days. On Wednesdays, you can play free ping pong, score $2 Stiga Sliders and $5 Ping me shots.
What to drink
I know I am in trouble when the drink menu looks just as delicious as the food menu. In addition to the $5 shot specials, I would highly recommend checking out one of Scout’s incredible cocktails. They have a creative, curated menu that includes shared pitchers for large parties.
One of these creative cocktails is the merit badge, made with pecan infused Wild Turkey, maple, bitters, and a waffle. Yes, you read that correctly. An actual waffle sits inside this maple goodness of a drink.
I don’t always drink frozen drinks, but I make an exception for ones like the frozen paloma. The fruity flavors mix with the tequila and aperol for the perfect combination.
What to eat
If you can’t tell from the drink menu, Scout’s food menu also will remind you of a gourmet camping trip and what you wish boy/girl scouts were like as a kid.
Start your meal off right with the 7 layer dip.
I haven’t had pork and beans in a long time, but I don’t remember it ever tasting as good as it does here. The dry rubbed pork ribs come with BBQ sauce and delicious beans. Channel your inner artist or chef with the brush to spread your sauce.
