We have made it to the fall, y’all!  (Well, almost.)  I am excited to share with you some delicious food and fun fitness events in north Dallas this month.  Some are repeats from last month, but there are many great, new events to be in the know about.

Cake & Wine Pairing

Art + Wine Walk


This month, the downtown Plano wine walk hosted by Plano Magazine falls on Thursday September 8.  I was at the May and June walks and they were a blast.  If you missed it, I wrote about the June wine walk here.  If you want to go, be sure to grab your tickets ahead of time to save $5.  You can grab your ticket here.

The Barre Code Plano 1 Year Anniversary


Celebrate with The Barre Code Plano on Saturday, September 10 from 9am-12pm. Dallas Chocolate Festival 2016

Vegan Beer and Wine Dinner


Last month, I posted about Urban Crust‘s dinner pairings.  They are back again with a Vegan version on September 12 at 6:30 pm.  Dinner will consist of five vegan courses paired with a vegan beer or ine. Tickets are $49.90 per person and can be picked up here.

Emmit Smith Gran Fondo


On Saturday, September 17, grab your bike and head over to the Frisco Dr. Pepper ballpark.  You can choose one of 4 routes ranging from 28 to 100 miles.  Be sure to stay for the after party and enjoy family activities, live entertainment, awards and more.

All proceeds from the Emmitt Smith Gran Fondo will benefit Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities, a 501c3 nonprofit charity that creates and funds unique experiences and educational opportunities for undeserved youth.

The Barre Code Plano Back to Sweat Kick-off Party


The day before the back to sweat challenge begins, come work it out with the ladies at The Barre Code Plano for another NYLO poolside variety class.  Class is Sunday September 18 at 6:00pm.  Your ticket will include workout and a signature cocktail from the NYLO bar.  Tickets are $25 ($15 for autopay) and can be purchased here! 

Plano Balloon Festival Races


There is much more to the Plano Balloon Festival than watching hot air balloons take off (confession: I have always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon).  This year, you can participate in a half marathon, half marathon relay competition, 5K Run/Walk or 1K Fun Run! Charity Workout

(copied from Facebook page) Julian Kampfschulte is an eight year old kid doing his best to manage his ALD journey. ALD is a progressive brain disorder with no cure. Lake Highlands Strength and Conditioning will be doing a fundraiser to support Julian and his family. There will be an adult workout, kids workout, bounce house, face painting, and food. This event is for anyone and everyone who wants to support the Kampfschultes, not just gym members. We will be accepting cash and check donations at the door, or you can give via PayPal to

Have you been curious about the new Beachbody program Country Heat?  Lorna Jane Plano is hosting a Country Heat Live Express Workshop on September 28 5:30-7:30 pm.  This event is open to everyone, even if you are not interested in getting your certification.  It costs $25 to attend, so register here.

Every Monday and Wednesday (excluding Sept. 5- Labor Day!) in September and October, take a FREE outdoor boot camp class with Texas Health Fitness Center CityLine from 6-7:00 pm.  Every Saturday, join CityLine for a FREE Reef Point Yoga class from 9– 10:00 am. Bring a mat!

    Vegan beer and wine dinner – I wish we had that! Not to mention all the other fun stuff like free yoga and the art wine walk. Those are all things I would enjoy!
