How do you bring out the BOLD in your life?  I bring out the bold in my life by spicing up my fitness routine and making no excuses.  I found out a month ago that I broke my foot, so I have had to be super creative getting my workouts in every day.  Whenever I think “I’ll just skip my workout today, it won’t make a difference,” I remember every little bit counts and get moving.

Here are just a few ways you can spice up your fitness routine:

Rock a new outfit

Anytime I get a new tank top or leggings, I feel like a rock star during my workout.   Wearing a new outfit to a class or even just home alone makes working out more enjoyable.  Be bold: pick out a new bright print or color.

Try out a new class

Do you always do yoga on Fridays? Are you a creature of habit?  Step out of your comfort zone and try a class you have never taken before (like the time I took a surfing class in Dallas).  Most places offer discounted or free first time visits, so take advantage!

Workout first thing in the morning

Working out in the morning sets the stage for a BOLD day.  Sometimes I do my morning workout at home.  Other times, I take an early morning class at The Barre Code Plano before work.  I like to set my alarm for 10 minutes before I have to jet out the door, so I jump out of bed and get moving right away. Can I tell you a secret?

I hate brushing my teeth before I eat breakfast. Not only does it make food taste terrible, if I don’t brush after eating too, I don’t really feel like I have good breath. So, right before I head to Barre Code, I swish around some Listerine Total Care to give me that minty burst of energy (not to mention kill the germs that cause bad breath and make my teeth 50% stronger than just brushing). That way, I can workout, eat breakfast, and then brush.  I buy toothpaste once a month (or so), so I just grab a new bottle of Listerine on my monthly trip to Walmart (it’s easy to remember since it’s on the same aisle).

Get moving

Set an alarm on your phone or Fitbit to remind you to get up and MOVE (however you want) throughout the day! Maybe you take a 10 minute walk outside, do 50 squats by your chair, hold a 60 second plank, or turn on your favorite song and dance.

Since working out is dehydrating and dehydration leads to bad breath, I keep a Listerine Pocketpak handy.     These were great tips! One of the only ways I’ll go to the gym is if I go first thing in the morning. For some reason, my chances of going to the gym decrease exponentially after 11AM!

    Great list for changing up your workout routine! I’m guilty of brushing before I drink coffee. I don’t know what it is but I HAVE to brush before I do anything else. I pop in an Altoid after coffee but could definitely check out the Listerine packs. They look seriously convenient!

      I think it is 50/50 on people who brush before/after breakfast. They are super convenient and really amp up the fresh breath game. 😉

    Excellent tips! I especially like the one about setting an alarm to make sure you move throughout the day. I keep meaning to do that and this is a great reminder! Cute workout clothes in this post, too.

    I really need to start working out in the AM. I work out now after work and it makes the day go longer because I know once I’m done with work, I’m still not going home. These are great tips! And I’m with you, new outfits are always good!

    Such great tips! I love to try out new classes, and new workout clothes always make me feel good. Just brushing my teeth isn’t enough for me either. I need to floss and use Listerine too. Only mouthwash that makes my teeth feel clean.

    Ya know! I do the same when I have super early morning classes and brush teeth after breakfast and coffee. I carry those strips everywhere! Since I have TMJ I cant really chew gum and they are the best.
