As a Dallas Fitness Ambassador, I get to visit fitness studios throughout Dallas and try a variety of workouts. We get together with everyone for a sweaty class. Often, we host community classes that you do not want to miss. Recently, I visited Strong Fitness with some of the other ambassadors and had a killer workout.
Strong Fitness offers a variety of classes that use different equipment. There are two different areas, the crossfit garage and the hybrid fitness room. I didn’t get to see much of the cross fit area, but loved the variety in the fitness room. They have TRX bands, Trueform treadmills, spin bikes and more. The facility is huge, so you aren’t crammed in group classes.
We took the hybrid fitness class, which consisted of a warm-up, cool down, and 4 cardio/strength intervals, each 8 minutes. Every person is hooked up with a heart monitor to be able to track your workout.
During the warm up, we separated into two groups. One group warmed up on the Trueforms, or self-propelled treadmills, and the other warmed up on the floor with pushups.
Once we completed both sections, we were ready to start the workout. I started out with the group on the floor, while the other group went to the spin bikes. The floor group had to complete as many intervals as possible in the 8 minutes of strength exercises using dumbbells and body weight. After that, my group moved to the spin bikes and completed an 8 minute interval on the bikes.
The next two intervals involved the TRX bands and Trueforms. This was my first time using the TRX bands. They work wonders. Believe me, I felt the burn for days afterwards. My group ended on Trueforms with an 8 minute interval similar to the bikes.
After our workout, we cooled down with some stretches to get our heart rate down.
Strong Fitness is a great place for people looking for variety in their workouts. Although we worked hard, got our heart rate up, and felt the burn, we had fun. Coach Lizzie and the other instructors do a great job of creating a challenging workout that doesn’t feel brutal. I highly recommend you check out one of their two locations.
