Ever since we got back from Greece, I crave Mediterranean food. Something about delicious tzatziki sauce and gyros takes me right back to Mykonos and Santorini. Fortunately, I found a place in Plano that offers fresh and flavorful food that satisfies that craving. Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe has two locations in DFW, Plano and Southlake. The Plano location is just south of 121 and Preston. Plano Magazine and Tazikis Plano partnered together to host a fit foodie night with several Dallas and Plano bloggers.
Taziki’s started in Birmingham, Alabama and now has over 40 locations in 11 states. They pride themselves on being the first national franchise to receive a REAL certification. You will not find a microwave, freezer or deep fryer in their kitchen, because all of their food is made with the freshest ingredients. They are a scratch kitchen that offers healthier prep methods too. Not only can you choose from one of many freshly grilled meats, but there are a variety of vegetarian options. Taziki’s is a great place for all plant-based and meat eaters alike.
What to eat
No matter what you order from the menu, know that it will be good, fresh, and flavorful.
Choose from a variety of dips- hummus, taziki, or spicy pimento cheese (my favorite!).
Entrees + sides
The grilled chicken roll up has feta and tomato and served in a griddled tortilla.
Any of the grilled meats make an excellent entree choice, too. Choose from chicken, beef, lamb, or pork loin. All meats are served with Greek salad and your choice of rice or potatoes.
They even have seafood options like salmon, shrimp, or tilapia.
If you are looking for less meaty options, choose from a variety of salads or the grilled veggie plate.
Accompany your entree with one of their fresh sides. I highly recommend the pasta salad or tomato-cucumber salad.
The dark chocolate cake is perfect for the chocolate lover of your group. It’s made from scratch with Richmond icing.
As much as I love chocolate, the baklava is where it’s at. They get their baklava from Hellas bakery, and it is by far the best tasting baklava I have ever had.
Head over to Taziki’s for lunch or dinner the next time you want some REAL delicious food.
