I have to be honest about something… When Jess asks me to do this from time to time, my initial reaction probably isn’t what it should be. Rather than “Yeah, sure sweetie!” it’s more of a “Why?”.
Not that I don’t enjoy it, because I really do. But I feel I’m basically the exact opposite of the typical reader. I don’t really eat all that healthy. My workouts mainly take place around the ping pong table or at weddings we’re shooting. I don’t dress cute. I do enjoy some good food but… I mean, who doesn’t?
So, what could I possibly have to offer?!
But then, I thought about all of the readers that could be with a person like me (shout out), and how it might be difficult for them to buy a gift for this person from time to time. I have heard Jess say I’m hard to buy for.
So, with Christmas quickly approaching, here are 3 Stocking Stuffers for Dudes That Don’t Work Out, Eat Healthy or Dress Cute (too long?). Don’t forget to enter the giveaway before you leave!
JORD “Frankie” Wooden Watch
I don’t really dress nice very often. We’ve established this. No collar, no buttons, no bracelets, necklaces, rings… Well, one ring. But overall I’m a pretty basic dude.
I do love watches. The only problem is I can NEVER remember to put one on. And on the slim chance I do, it’s so itchy/heavy/irritating/annoying that I end up just slipping it into my pocket.
Side note: Another reason I want to start wearing a watch is to keep myself from pulling out my phone to look at the time so often. Because, as we all know, once your phone is out you might as well check Facebook, emails, texts, etc. So, in an attempt to be more intentional with my time with Jess and, honestly, just get my nose out of my phone all the time, I want to start wearing a watch more regularly.
It’s the Frankie by JORD, and it’s made of a lightweight wood so I can barely even tell I’m wearing it. Plus, it comes in a sweet wooden box with a magnetic top and a little drawer at the bottom. Score!
I love this thing.
Dude Sweet Chocolate Hanoi Fudge
After going out for a “Last Wedding of the Year” celebration in downtown Plano, Jess and I moseyed into Dude Sweet with, honestly… no other intention than to just grab a few bites of free chocolate and walk out.
Then came Hanoi.
The guy said, “We’ve got this pretty good Ethiopian Dark Roast Coffee Fudge. Want to try some?” so nonchalantly, as if to deliberately set our expectations low and watch our faces light up once we tasted it.
So I bought some, had a few bites, Jessica’s “lady time” came around (am I allowed to say that?), and the empty box has been floating around the house taunting me ever since.
Clyde May’s Alabama Style Whiskey
Just think about all the time you’ve spent working out that could’ve been spent drinking whiskey… Yeah… Let that sink in for a second.
I have a habit of judging my alcohol purchases by how cool the label looks. I figure… If they put that kind of time into the branding, they’ve put some time into the beverage as well. And for that reason, Clyde May’s wins. It tastes just as good as it looks. But if you can’t find Clyde May’s, just remember: You can’t go wrong with whiskey. Period.
One person will win a $75 e-gift code to purchase their own JORD men’s or womens’ watch. Every person who enters will automatically receive a $25 coupon code that can be used toward any watch. Get a head start on your holiday shopping, and enter here to win. Contest ends on Friday November 18.
