Last week, Colton and I visited True Food Kitchen during Legacy West’s grand opening. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about this new addition to Plano. Soon, I will have no reason to leave Plano. True Food Kitchen opened up its doors among several fun new foodie hot spots in Plano.
They have set themselves apart, however, with their healthy, flavor-forward menu. You will find plenty of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options on the menu too.
True Food Kitchen is an open kitchen, which means you can watch the chefs prepare each dish. I love how large and inviting this makes the restaurant. It’s bright, inviting, and full of greenery to really showcase how unique the food is.
They have a great outdoor patio too.
All of the cocktails are made with fruit and vegetables juices freshly pressed in house as well as organic spirits. They select every beer from local breweries, and have a variety of wines to choose from.
I love how fresh the mimoasa are. This isn’t your typical orange juic mimosa. True Food Kitchen has a grapefruit and honey mimosa. It’s the perfect brunch drink because it is fresh and refreshing. I thought it was not too sweet and balanced out my meal nicely.
Colton went the Peacemaker route. The bourbon, amaro, lemon and honey mix well together and is a great whiskey forward drink.
They offer non-alcoholic, fresh squeezed juices too.
I chose the garden fresh scramble. Not only does it have delicious farm eggs, but it is covered in vegetables. They add roasted bell peppers, asparagus, caramelized onion, broccolini, and sweet potato to the egg scramble to make it hearty and full of flavor. I added sausage to it, but it would have been delicious without it too.
Colton ate the teriyaki quinoa bowl and added steak. In addition to steak and quinoa, they add broccoli, mushrooms, carrot, toasted sesame, avocado, boo choy, and brown rice. The house made teriyaki sauce they use is fantastic.
My only complaint is that they were out of the flourless chocolate cake I was dying to try. I guess that means we will have to come back for it.
Thank you for having us out, True Food Kitchen. Although our meal was covered in exchange for a review, all thoughts and opinions remain my own.
